The LSWT uses in-house 3D printers extensively for wind tunnel models. Parts are often selected for 3D printing if they are intricate in design, frequently expected to change, or need to be manufactured quickly or cheaply.
The LSWT also offers 3D printing services to anyone with or without use of other LSWT services. Three printers are available: Stratasys FDM, Formlabs Form 3, and Formlabs Form 3L.
One of the best reasons to print with the LSWT is our experienced staff. As part of the print cost, the LSWT staff will briefly review the component for issues that may hamper print, handling, or final use quality of the part and suggest minor design changes as required. Full design reviews are also offered for an additional fee.
